Reverend Charles L. White Jr. Speaks at UACCM

Tomorrow, February 15, during X-Period in the UACCM Fine Arts Auditorium  we will have the second guest speaker in our African American History Month Speaker Series, Reverend Charles L. White Jr.  Reverend White currently serves as National Field Director and Director of Field Organizing for the NAACP. Among his numerous awards and honors include being named the 2009 NAACP’s Medgar Evers Award, the highest honor bestowed on a NAACP National Staff Member. He was presented the Outstanding Citizen Award by the Georgia Secretary of State. He was also honored to be one of the principle coordinators and a pallbearer at the memorial service for the late Mrs. Rosa Parks, the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.

This is an excellent opportunity for all members of the community, students, faculty, and staff to hear an excellent message from an important figure in American Civil Rights. I hope to see you there!

(We are still working on rescheduling Senator Joyce Elliott who’s presentation was cancelled due to icy weather).
