UACCM Youth Summer Programs

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is offering several exciting options for area youth to participate in fun and educational programs during the summer months. Participants will be able to conduct science experiments, perform a musical production, or go on an imaginary journey across the Serengeti Desert!

“Super Scientists” is a summer camp for those inquisitive, science-minded young students. They will experience the fun of building a scaled model of Mount Saint Helens, perform quasi-forensic analysis of "solid waste," collect and grow their own microbial cultures, perform anatomy dissections and many more memorable experiences while participating in the science camp. “Super Scientists” will be held on June 18-21 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Lunch will be provided. The camp is $150 per child and will be open to all children who will be entering grades 4-6.

UACCM Music Instructor Shannah Cummings and members of the UACCM Show Choir, "Soundscape" will be hosting Music Camp on July 16-19 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. This camp will prepare participants to present their own show full of Broadway, pop, and country tunes of yesterday and today. Throughout the process, students will improve their vocal technique, learn some basic choreography, and learn how to be an effective and exciting performer in a fun and supportive environment. The fee for Music Camp is $110 per student and includes lunch for each day of camp. The camp is open to all students who are entering grades 7-12.

The third opportunity for students to attend a summer camp at UACCM will be Kids College. During Kids College, children entering grades 1-3 will get the chance to experience a full week of imagination, education, and fun as they take an imaginary trek across the Serengeti and a take a trip to the past to visit a world of Knights, Damsels and Castles. Those wishing to attend Kids College can sign up for July 9-12 or July 16-19. Kids College will run from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and is $65 per child. Children should bring a sack lunch and an afternoon snack.

Enrollment for each camp is on a “first-come, first-served” basis and space is limited. It is highly recommended to register as early as possible. To register for any of these camps or to receive more information, please visit the Community Education page of UACCM’s website at www.uaccm.edu, register in person at the UACCM Community Education Center, 600 North Saint Joseph Street in Morrilton, or call (501) 215-4898.
