CARLON, ZINSER APPOINTED TO BOARD OF VISITORS AT UAACM

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton has appointed two new members to its Board of Visitors, Ancel Carlon and Brandon Zinser.

Carlon has been a State Farm Insurance agent for almost 45 years and received a Crystal of Excellence Agent award for many years of outstanding service. Carlon was married to the late Joan Wallace Carlon for 44 years. They have three children, Ancel “Chip” Carlon, Jr., Kristi Carlon Strain, and Karri Carlon Gray, and two grandchildren. A native of the Morrilton area, Carlon has served his community for many years. He has been a member of the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce since 1969, was president of the Chamber in 1979, and received the Earle Love Business Leader of the Year award in 2009. He served on the Rotary Club for 20 years, is a Kiwanis Club business member, and has served as a deacon and elder at the Downtown Church of Christ.

Zinser is employed as an engineer at CenterPoint Energy in Little Rock. He is also an owner of Environmental Solutions & Services, an oilfield service company, located in Damascus. Brandon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering and an MBA from the University of Arkansas. He serves on the board of directors for Community Service, Inc. and is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoys playing golf and is currently pursuing his private pilot’s license. Brandon and his wife, Heather, reside in Morrilton.

The UACCM Board of Visitors consists of nine members who are appointed by the University of Arkansas Trustees upon recommendation of the UA System president. The UACCM Board of Visitors represents the College’s six-county service area and serves in an advisory capacity to the UA System Board of Trustees. The Board of Visitors may make recommendations to the UA Board of Trustees concerning tuition, fees, proposed institutional policies, acquisitions and transfer of real and personal property, and the educational programs of the College.

Student Onboarding Due March 25

In preparation for Fall 2024 advising & registration, students should log into Workday and complete a series of tasks called Student Onboarding : Students should log in to Workday and complete these tasks:  Navigate to  myapps.microsoft.com  in a web browser.  Log in with your UACCM email and password when prompted. You may also be prompted to authenticate using an authenticator app or secure code.  A dashboard with multiple apps will display. Locate the blue app titled “Workday” and select it.  You are now logged into Workday!  Once logged in, you will do the Federal Student Aid Authorization and then complete My Tasks .  This will include such things editing your contact information (if necessary), editing your personal information (if necessary), adding My Friends and Family (emergency contact information), and other tasks. When entering your My Friends and Family information, you must select Emergency Contact as one of the relationship types or you will get an error message .

UACCM Eclipse Parking

  The following guidelines apply to any vehicles parked on the UACCM campus at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. FOR VISITORS VIEWING ECLIPSE:  Purchase an eclipse parking pass for $100 from the either of the tents located on University Boulevard  (🟧 on map). You are allowed to park anywhere in eclipse parking (blue on map). FOR STUDENTS VIEWING ECLIPSE:  You are allowed to park in eclipse parking (blue on map), free of charge. You must present a valid and current UACCM Student ID at either tent located on University Boulevard (🟧 on map). A UACCM campus parking pass is also required.  FOR STUDENTS CONDUCTING BUSINESS: You may park in the parking lot in front of the UC and BTC (pink on map). You must present a valid and current UACCM Student ID at either tent located on University Boulevard (🟧 on map). A UACCM campus parking pass is also required.

Get to know Miss UACCM 2023

  Earlier this month, Zaybrau Williams, from Dardanelle, was named Miss UACCM in the fifteenth annual Miss UACCM pageant.  Zaybrau was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the UACCM’s Chancellor’s Office, a floral bouquet courtesy of Plummer’s Flowers and Gifts, Morrilton, and gifts cards from Elia’s Mexican Grill, Morrilton, and Red Barn Market, Conway. Get to know Miss UACCM 2023, Zaybrau Williams, a little more. Why did you choose UACCM? I chose UACCM because of the community size and the various opportunities that are available to me.
