UACCM Announces the Charles Stover Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton is pleased to announce the establishment of the Charles Stover Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund.  This scholarship was made possible with a generous donation of livestock by Danny and Delene Stover of Plumerville.  The $30,000 made from the sale of the livestock has gone to establish this scholarship, available to students studying auto collision or welding.
This scholarship is established in memory of Charles Stover, Danny and Delene Stover’s late son.  Charles was married to Tammy (Guinn) Stover and they had three daughters, Sydney, Mary Kate, and Lillian. The family lived in the Wonderview area. Charles attended Petit Jean Technical College (PJTC) in 1993 and studied auto collision repair technology. He went on to work for Halter's Body Shop in Conway for over 20 years where he earned his ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification.
The Stover's other son Clay also attended PJTC in 1993 and studied welding. In addition, Danny Stover graduated from Petit Jean Vo-Tech in 1972 with a degree in drafting and surveying. He retired from Greenbay Packaging's Arkansas Kraft Division in 2009.
Delene Stover holds a BS and a BA from Arkansas Tech and a MSE from UCA. She retired in 2010 after teaching in the South Conway County School District for 32 years.  In talking about the scholarship, she said, “Education is important to our entire family, and it means a lot to us to be able to honor Charles with this memorial scholarship.”  As an endowed gift, the scholarship will continue indefinitely as the funds are paid from interest drawn on the principal donation amount, allowing students to benefit from this generosity for years to come.
The donated cattle were sold at the Mid-State Livestock Auction in Damascus.  The Stover family, as well as the UACCM development staff, would like to say a special thank you to Lane Pruitt for helping to facilitate the sale of the livestock.

The first award of this scholarship will be for the Fall 2016 semester and is renewable for the spring and summer semester for students in the accelerated technical programs.  It is open to students residing in UACCM’s six-county service area of Conway, Perry, Van Buren, Pope, Yell, and Faulkner counties.  Applications can be made through the UACCM Financial Aid office or online at www.uaccm.edu.

Gifts to the Charles Stover Memorial Scholarship Fund can be made by contacting Morgan Zimmerman in the UACCM Development Office at 501-977-2085 or online at www.uaccm.edu/GiveToUACCM.
