UACCM Announces New Workforce Training Courses

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton Department of Workforce and Community Education announced at the February 13, 2016 job fair new, short-term workforce training courses and workshops available to individuals who wish to learn skills for a new career or to advance in their current career.
These new trainings include a four-week Nursing Assisting program, a four -week Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance program, a seven-week Welding program, and five-week HVAC program.  While the cost on these trainings in minimal, dislocated workers and long-term unemployed persons can apply through the Arkansas Sector Partnership Grant to take the class for free.  Additional financial assistance may be available depending on eligibility.  More information about these programs, as well as the link to register, can be found at www.uaccm.edu/workforce.
In addition to these trainings, UACCM has developed a FREE Resume and Job Search Workshop that is open to anyone.  Participants will learn how to create their best resume and get tips for effective job searches.  This training was developed out of a need realized at the recent job fair, where job seekers were lined up waiting for a chance to meet with workers from the Governor’s Dislocated Worker Task Force Mobile Unit, UACCM employees, and volunteers from the Workforce Centers of Russelville, Morrilton, and Conway to receive resume and job search assistance.  More information about this workshop, as well as a link to register, can also be found at www.uaccm.edu/workforce.
UACCM will be holding another FREE job fair on April 9, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Kirk Building.  For more information about the fair and how you can participate, please visit www.uaccm.edu/jobfair
