UACCM Adult Education Center Holds GED Graduation

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton held the UACCM Adult Education GED® Graduation June 13, 2016 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. A total of 41 graduates, including12 from 2014 – 2015 and 29 from 2015 – 2016, were recognized in the ceremony.
Five of those who graduated were recently notified of their GED® attainment due to the lowering of the passing score.  On January 26, 2016, GED® Testing Service announced a recalibration of the GED® test.  The passing score was lowered from 150 to 145 in each of the four content areas.  GED® Testing Service recommended that those students who earned a 145 or above on all sections of the GED® test since January 1, 2014, be retroactively given their high school equivalency diploma.

UACCM’s Adult Education offers year round GED® classes and entry is open at any point during the year.  Classes are free of charge and are available Monday – Thursday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the UACCM Adult Education office at 600 North St. Joseph Street in Morrilton.  The office is open until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.  UACCM is now also offering classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Max Milam Library in Perryville. A distance learning option is also available.

Those who wish to take the GED® must first pass the GED® Ready test, a practice test that is free of charge.
