Arkansas Adult Education, a Division of Workforce Services, will host its third annual statewide Open House at its 40 adult education centers around the state. The purpose is to raise awareness about adult education programs and the success of those who have used them.

All four locations of UACCM Adult Education will be open on September 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., where the public can learn about their services and how Arkansas Adult Education can help you get job-ready. This event is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.

More than 35 million American adults struggle to read, write, do math, and use technology above a third-grade level. In Arkansas, 18 percent of the population need adult education and training, and every year, Arkansas Adult Education improves the lives of thousands of Arkansans. Adult education graduates are more likely to be employed full-time and receive significant pay raises within 18 months of exiting an adult education program.

The programs that UACCM Adult Education offers include: earning your high school diploma through GED® Preparation and Testing, English as a second language (ESL), WAGE™ Job Readiness Training, and Workplace Education.

For more information about this event, contact Kim Darling, Director of Adult Education at UACCM, at (501) 215-4094, or at darling@uaccm.edu.
